West Indies take a blow, Andre Russell out of World Cup

Before the match against India on June 27, bad news came to the West Indies camp. 

All-rounder Andre Russell, known for his overwhelming batting, has been out of the tournament due to injury.

  Sunil Ambrish has been replaced in the team. Russell did not play the last match against New Zealand due to injury. They were looking to continue struggling in the World Cup. In such a situation, being out of the World Cup is a great blow to the team.

Russell, who was included in the squad for the World Cup on his aggressive batting in IPL 12, could not show his batting exposure yet. The fans waited for the rain of the four-footed sixes coming out of their bat.

The West Indies have so far played six matches in the World Cup, out of which 1 has won and lost in four. While his fight against South Africa got climbed to rain, In 4 out of these 6 matches Russell got the chance to join the XI. He could not handle the bat and could only score 36 runs in 3 innings. But they bowled five wickets in bowling.

Russell had a knee injury in the match against Bangladesh. His garden did not play in the match against New Zealand. Although it was believed that it would be fit before the match against India on June 27 in Manchester, but it did not happen.
  
   On Monday, the ICC issued the statement, saying that Russell was out of the World Cup. After this, World Tech's event technical committee allowed Sunil Ambrish to be included in the team instead of Russell.

Ambrish is considered to be a fast-paced batsman. He has scored 6 ODIs in an average of 105.33 runs. During his time with the bat, the one-off century came against Ireland only during the tri-series played in Ireland just before the World Cup.
