HAPPY 140th ANNIVERSARY FOR TEST CRICKET

  Test cricket is always a special even todays days where T20 & 50 over match dominating the this game. test match is know for the players patient to play long period & consistency. Over the period of time there were many changes in this format & but only "whites" cloth is still there which know for Gentleman's game. Even now the many people talk about to change the strategy, format & bring something new for make this format more interesting.
   140 year ago on 15th march, 1977 the first official test were played between Australia vs England at the MCG ground & the journey began till today. Around in four day was around 19000 attendance on this match.
   Australia played first inning & Charles Bannerman  score the first run & first Hundred in official test match. He score 165 run & retired hurt. in the first inning he contribut around 70% of of total score that is 245. Australia won this game by 45 run. After this loss England made the equal of two match series by winning second match.

    • W.Newing fielded for Bannerman.
    • Bannerman scored 69.6% of his side's runs from the bat - still a record in Test matches.
    • Bannerman - 165 (290 minutes,18 fours).
    • Southerton - He is the oldest Test debutant. Age 49 years 119 days & this is still a record.
